Pile Hammer: How It Works
The vibrating pile hammer employs high-frequency vibrations to transfer vertical vibrations to the pile body with high acceleration, altering the soil structure around the pile and reducing its strength. This process causes the soil around the piles to liquefy, thereby decreasing the frictional resistance between the pile's sides and the soil. The excavator's down force, along with the vibrating pile hammer and the pile's weight, drives the pile deep into the soil. For pile extraction, the vibrating condition allows the excavator's lift force to pull the pile out. The excitation force required for pile driving machinery is determined comprehensively by the site's soil, soil condition, moisture content, pile type, and construction requirements.
