Pile Hammer How to Work?
The vibrating pile hammer employs its high-frequency vibrations to transmit strong vertical vibrations to the pile body. This process alters the soil structure around the pile, reducing its strength and causing soil liquefaction. This reduction in frictional resistance between the pile and the soil facilitates the pile's penetration into the ground, assisted by the excavator's downforce, the pile hammer's vibrations, and the pile's weight. When extracting piles, the process is reversed, using vibrational forces and the excavator's lift to pull the pile out. The required excitation force for pile driving is determined by site-specific factors such as soil type, moisture content, and pile type.
