Pile Hammer: How Does It Work?
The vibrating pile hammer utilizes high-frequency vibration to induce high acceleration in the pile body, transmitting vertical vibrations that alter the soil structure around the pile. This leads to reduced soil strength and liquefaction, lowering frictional resistance between the pile sides and the soil. The combination of excavator down force, vibrating hammer, and pile weight allows the pile to sink efficiently. For extraction, the pile is vibrated and lifted using the excavator's lift force. The required excitation force is determined by site soil conditions, moisture content, pile type, and construction specifics.
