How Does the Pile Hammer Work?
The vibrating pile hammer operates at high frequency to impart powerful vertical vibrations to the pile. This causes changes in the soil structure around the pile, reducing its strength and causing liquefaction. As a result, frictional resistance between the pile sides and the soil is minimized. The combined force of the excavator, vibrating hammer, and the pile's weight then drives the pile into the soil. For extraction, the same vibrating mechanism is used, with the excavator's lift force aiding in the removal. The required excitation force is determined by site-specific soil conditions, moisture content, pile type, and construction needs.
