How Does the Pile Hammer Work?
The vibrating pile hammer utilizes high-frequency vibrations to induce high acceleration in the pile body, transmitting vertical vibrations to the pile. This alters the surrounding soil structure, reducing its strength and causing liquefaction. The reduced frictional resistance between the pile's sides and the soil allows the pile to sink under the combined force of the excavator, the hammer's vibrations, and the pile's weight. For extraction, vibration continues while the pile is pulled out using the excavator's lift force. The excitation force required for pile driving is determined by soil type, condition, moisture content, and pile type.
