This liquefies the soil around the piles, diminishing the frictional resistance between the pile sides and the soil. Combining the excavator's downforce, the vibrating pile hammer, and the pile body weight, the pile is driven into the soil. During extraction, the pile is pulled out in a vibrating state using the excavator's lift force.
